we recorded these songs in our jam spot between 1990 and 1993 with the help of Bill Crapelle running the ADAT's. It was our goal to smoke a shit load of weed and make music that was like what you would get if a jazz fusion band started doing black sabbath covers. Really heavy with all instruments trading solos back and forth. We intentionally made our songs as difficult as we could dream up to push our music abilities as far as we could, while at the same time attempting to maintain an overall sense of melody. We liked to contrast things like harmony and dissonance. We would have a song that had a very slow tempo but all the instruments inside it were playing very fast. We tried to be heavy and mello at the same time. We were fucking with everything we could, and we didn't expect any one to get it. We did manage to get a good following on the west coast and actually were offered a record deal with Roadrunner Records, but I sort of told them to go and get fucked. Oh well. (it was obvious that they weren't going to give us any artistic freedom so fuck'em)
